ABOUT US

Professional Training

In partnership with local academic and professional organizations, we're working to develop unique training events for teachers, parents, and medical professionals working with children with Down syndrome and other disabilities.

Research & Community Resources

We fund research initiatives focused on cognition, learning, memory, and speech and support community programs providing opportunity and independence for individuals with Down syndrome.

Outreach through Libraries

The DSRC makes useful, up-to-date books related to Down syndrome available at no charge to residents in the greater Washington, DC area. Today, more than 10 million residents in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia have access to these resources through their local public libraries!

Books donated to local libraries and partner nonprofit groups cover topics including nutrition, physical therapy, occupational therapy, communication and speech therapy, independent living, and parenting skills. Check out our Resources page for some of the books we've donated.
